Hasan Minhaj is a comedian, actor, political commentator, and television host. Born and raised in Davis, CA, Minhaj went to UC Davis where he studied political science and took an interest in comedy. From 2014-2018, Minhaj shined in what could be considered the perfect role for him as a correspondent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, where he was able to blend his love for comedy with his affinity for political commentary. In 2017, Minhaj earned high praises for his performance hosting the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and for his Netflix comedy special “Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King”, which earned him a 2018 Peabody Award. In late 2018, Minhaj created and began to host Netflix’s weekly comedy show “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj” which explored the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity through his unique comedic voice. The show received a 2019 Peabody Award, a 2019 Primetime Emmy Award, and was recognized for a 2020 Television Academy Honor. Additionally in 2019, Minhaj was included in TIME magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
