AS Program Board Presents… Ask ARI ASTER on Wednesday, May 27th at 7 PM PST. Join us for a live conversation with Ari Aster as he answers your burning questions.
This event is free and closed to UCSB students.
Ari Aster (writer and director of critically acclaimed films, MIDSOMMAR & HEREDITARY) leads the new age of horror films. His multilayered and deeply personal work has landed him on the radars of film lovers, critics, and directors such as Bong Joon Ho (Parasite). In MIDSOMMAR, Ari features an extraordinary cast composed of Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, and Will Poulter. Midsommar released last summer and instantly became a critical and commercial success. Hailed by director Jordan Peele as “the most idyllic horror film of all time,” Midsommar resonated with, yet terrified audiences across the world.
Prior to Midsommar, Ari wrote and directed supernatural thriller, HEREDITARY, his break-out feature starring Ann Dowd, Alex Wolff, and Golden Globe winner Toni Collette. Hailed as the scariest film of 2018, Hereditary went on to receive critical acclaim, becoming the best ever opening for A24, as well as A24’s highest-grossing film worldwide.
Join AS Program Board this Wednesday, May 27th, in welcoming one of this generation’s most creative visionaries, Ari Aster.
