2026-2027 Positions
Administrative
Commissioner
The Program Board Commissioner leads Program Board and is the official representative of the board in all campus and system wide matters, in accordance with the Legal Code of Associated Students. The Commissioner is the official spokesperson for the Program Board in matters and serves as their representative on all AS related matters and committees. The Commissioner is responsible for fiscal management of the entire board including the preparation of the budget for the subsequent year. This position coordinates the operations of all Program Board positions and is responsible for all voting matters before the board. The Commissioner is also responsible for creating an agenda and chairing weekly meetings. The Commissioner meets frequently with other Board positions and stays in close communication with the Assistant Director for Student Programs and Events and the Program Advisor.
Deputy Commissioner
In the event of the absence of the Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner assumes the duties of the Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner assists Registered Student Organizations seeking Program Board sponsorship for their events. The Deputy Commissioner vets requests, submits them for inclusion on the agenda, and acts as the liaison between Program Board and the organizations. For the business relations aspect of the position, the Deputy Commissioner is responsible for developing relationships with local and national businesses and obtains sponsorships for various events, especially Extravaganza. The Deputy Commissioner is an authorized signer for financial matters and is responsible for updating the board weekly on the budget. The Deputy Commissioner assists the other coordinators as needed.
Booking
Special Events Coordinator
The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating larger concerts on campus in venues such as the Storke Plaza, Events Center/Thunderdome, and Harder Stadium. The Special Events Coordinator books the artists and coordinates Extravaganza, Delirium, the Welcome Back Concert, and The Warm Up. The Special Events Coordinator may also organize any special event that is approved by Program Board. The Special Events Coordinator works directly with agents and promoters to book concerts that appeal to the student population. As Special Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for constantly researching current music trends, forming budgets, researching artists, presenting them to board, negotiating with agents, contacting artists’ managers, working with an assistant, and coordinating meetings as well as details for any and all shows booked.
Special Events Assistant
This position provides assistance to the Special Events Coordinator in planning events and shows on campus. Tasks range from brainstorming ideas for events, creating research docs, fulfilling all day of show hospitality responsibilities for Special Events, and doing the majority of behind-the-scenes orders for ASPB’s annual Extravaganza Festival. Additionally, alongside the Concerts Assistant, the Special Events Assistant is responsible for booking Storke Shows throughout the year as well as planning and hosting Battle of the Bands and Battle of the DJs in winter quarter.
Concerts Coordinator
The Concerts Coordinator works on programming for the Hub, as well as helping student groups and aiding in many other booking matters. The Concerts Coordinator works directly with agents and promoters to book concerts that appeal to the student population. As Concerts Coordinator, you will be responsible for constantly researching current music trends, forming budgets, presenting research documents to board, negotiating with agents, contacting artists’ managers, working with an assistant, and coordinating meetings and details for any shows booked.
Concerts Assistant
The Concerts Coordinator is another booking position and is very time-consuming. The Concerts Coordinator works on programming for the Hub, as well as helping student groups and aiding in many other booking matters. The Concerts Coordinator works directly with agents and promoters to book concerts that appeal to the student population. As Concerts Coordinator, you will be responsible for constantly researching current music trends, forming budgets, presenting research documents to board, negotiating with agents, contacting artists’ managers, working with an assistant, and coordinating meetings and details for any shows booked.
Cultural Events Coordinator
The Cultural Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating at least three events that span various genres including but not limited to: intellectual lectures and comedy shows. As Cultural Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for constantly researching current social media trends, forming budgets, presenting them to board, negotiating with agents, contacting artists’ managers, and working with an assistant.
Cultural Events Assistant
The Cultural Assistant provides assistance to the Cultural Events Coordinator in planning speaking, comedy, and other cultural events. They are also responsible for cataloging ASPB events in our archive and planning at least two events per academic year.
Films Coordinator
This position provides the board with a flexible programming position in terms of booking movies on campus. Programming consists of a Tuesday night film series and sneak previews. Film selection may include blockbusters or some oldies but goodies that the Board wants to bring back to the big screen. The Films Coordinator will work with film distribution companies and studio marketing companies for sneak previews. The Films Coordinator is responsible for obtaining ad slicks, posters, and advertising for the shows.
Publicity
Graphics Coordinator
The Graphics Coordinator develops advertising and graphics to be used for promoting Program Board events. The Graphics Coordinator is responsible for all posters, flyers, logos, promotional graphics, and graphics for social media use. Computer skills are crucial to produce professional looking publicity (Familiarity with Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is required. Other design programs are a plus). This position is time consuming and allows for some creativity (although the priority is to present events clearly in ads). This is a very important position as it supports all of the programming areas in Program Board. If applying for this position, please submit samples and/or a portfolio of your work.
Graphics Assistant
Assists the Graphic Coordinator in developing and producing advertisements, posters, logos, and other artwork in order to publicize Program Board events to the public. Computer skills are crucial, especially knowledge of graphic design programs such as Adobe Suite programs, Photoshop and Illustrator. This position will involve working very closely with the Graphics Coordinator. If applying for this position, please submit samples and/or a portfolio of your work.
Publicity Coordinator
Publicity Coordinator is responsible for overall marketing and promotion of all ASPB events. ASPB relies heavily on social networking sites such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok to promote events, and you will be required to maintain these accounts. The Publicity Coordinator supplies information to the press, coordinates press surrounding our events (working with campus news networks) . The Coordinator helps with flyering on and off campus, securing partnerships throughout the year. They also take on leading the Theme and Release for Extravaganza. During events, you are responsible for overseeing all photographers and press guests.
Publicity Assistant
The Publicity Assistant assists the Publicity Coordinator in running and maintaining the various social media channels and other outlet avenues for Program Board. They are specifically tasked with managing publicity for smaller events such as Storke Shows, Free Tuesday Films, etc. Also responsible for the coordination of flyer distribution and tabling.
Digital Media Coordinator
The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for managing the ASPB website, updating content as needed. This role is also responsible for sending out newsletters and managing spreadsheets for surveys and/or forms posted on the ASPB website. The Digital Media Coordinator should have excellent writing skills and be knowledgeable with various design tools, including, but not limited to, WordPress and Mailchimp.
Ticket Coordinator
The Ticket Coordinator is responsible for ordering tickets (when needed) for concerts, lectures, etc. working closely with the AS Ticket Office and any other ticket outlets. The Ticket Coordinator will keep track of the progress of the show, daily ticket counts, and the seating arrangements. The Ticket Coordinator is also responsible for keeping and controlling the guest list and complimentary tickets, which involves working closely with the programmer for each event, and may also be responsible for setting up distribution on the night/day of the show to distribute tickets ordered by phone or comps. The Ticket Coordinator keeps parking permits and is responsible for tracking and maintaining parking permits needed for performers.
Volunteer Coordinator
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assembling and maintaining an active membership of volunteers and ambassadors to assist in Program Board events. This person facilitates the Ambassador program (marketing-focused) from hiring to biweekly meetings. They also coordinate volunteer group’s flyering events, update Spotify playlists, and coordinate volunteers to work at A.S. Program Board events. The position calls for a skill for leadership, mentoring, and creativity toward recruiting potential students.
Member at Large
The Member at Large serves as hospitality coordinator for all special events. This person aids coordination of hospitality logistics for large-scale campus events in collaboration with the Special Events team, including vendor sourcing, budgeting, and on-site execution. They also execute financial operations related to hospitality by processing cash advances and overseeing hospitality-related spending, ensuring appropriate fund allocation for events. Other responsibilities include live event production support, including room setup and breakdown, pipe and drape installation, runner responsibilities, and day-of-show operations to ensure seamless event flow. Finally, Member at Large will support event implementation through tabling, audience engagement, film programming support, cultural event staffing, and consistent office hours.
Production
Production Liaison
The Production Liaison oversees all production related matters including sound, stage, and lighting for Program Board and student events. This person will supervise and schedule the rest of the Production staff for all events. They will also work with production vendors for all technical productions, including Special Events and Hub Shows. This person will also report to the Program Board at weekly meetings on any production related matters. This person will need at least one year of experience on ASPB’s production staff.
Production Liaison Assistant
The Production Liaison Assistant aids the Production Liaison in any other Production related task. This person will help coordinate with artists, bands and student performers on production equipment for Park Shows and Storke Shows. This person will also attend weekly meetings and report on any production related matters according to their role. This person will need at least one year of experience on ASPB’s production staff.
